2017 Clutch City Classic Tip Sheet

'17 CCClassic Simien

YUMON SIMIEN (RICE BLUE STORM LEGACY 16U)

HOUSTON, Texas- Prime Time Sports 2017 Clutch City Classic was definitely a hit for me because I had a chance to see what I’m always on the prowl for, players who have the ability to play at the next level and let me there was an abundance of talent to go around and players talented enough to play at every level of the next level. I truly appreciate the programs that took the time to get me their rosters before the tournament started, covering so many teams on so many courts is a job in itself but since I’ve always been a firm believer that talent is everywhere, I try and see as many players as possible when I cover an event and once again, no one covers an event like me, it’s just that simple. Here are some of the standouts from the Clutch City Classic, if you’re not following me on social media, Twitter, Instagram and (or) Facebook, you may miss something and also utilize not only my website but my BLOG and before you are misled by any other recruiting services, contact me

2017

Nelly Rodriguez (Houston Silver Stars) the GPR Under The Radar star simply was a triple double waiting to happen throughout the event. Playing multiple positions is something she has always been able to do but she simply took over games on both ends and that long ball was smoking as she scored almost at will

2019

Yumon Simien (Rice Blue Storm Legacy 16U) long and athletic, Simien simply has the tools to be a nightmare to defend. Her first step is deadly yet it sets defenders up for whatever else she pulls out of her offensive bag of tricks and at 5’9, she not only elevates over taller players for the jumper, she has range from 25 feet on in

Darby Hurley (AGGIELAND 2018) playing up and getting it done is something Hurley has been doing for quite some time but I love the way she keeps showing me that she’s putting in work. Outside shooting has always been there yet range has expanded as well as her ability to get to the basket and finish strong

PRECIOUS DAILY (AGGIELAND 2021)

2020

Kayla Merchant (SETX Power Elite) caught a glimpse of her playing last season so the progression I’m seeing really stood out. She loves to battle inside, dives after loose ball and rebounds well on both ends. Not afraid of being physical is always good as she scores inside and outside

Mariah Samuel (Houston Skyrise 2020 Harris) when you hear someone talking about never taking a play off, picture Samuel because every game I’ve seen her play in every tournament, this makes the third, she simply brings it on both ends. Loves to defend and she does a good job of creating under pressure for herself and teammates

Naja Adlam (Texas Elite Lady Warriors 2020) she does so many things you can’t teach, like anticipating passes and I love seeing players playing the passing lanes. Good size and strength, she rebounds strong on both ends and finishes even stronger, with contact

Chelsea Perry (GTE White) very athletic, attacks from everywhere on the floor and finishes with contact. Perry is a high energy player that defends baseline to baseline but watching her in the open court is something to see as she definitely is showing she can not only get wherever she wants but has weapons offensively

2021

Cierra Gilbert (Rice Blue Storm Legacy 14U) played on both squads for most of the tournament, in fact probably played five games in a day and being the sister of an NCAA National Champion definitely has rubbed off. The thing I like more than anything is her desire, the intensity she brings and the way she battles on the floor. She’s almost 6’0 and her upside is unlimited

Precious Daily (AGGIELAND 2021) the first thing I loved about her years ago was her basketball IQ, that’s something you just can’t teach and after battling nagging injuries all last season, watching her perform the way she did was definitely amazing. She knows how to run a team, she handles pressure and she can score and defend, plus her upside is nowhere near where she’ll be

Kaci Johnson (Texas Lady Elite Warriors 2021) already showing me she understands the simple things, keeping the ball high, boxing out, both of which are lost arts and her strong body enables her to finish with contact. I love her upside as she shows that desire on both ends to just get it done

'17 CCClassic Ivery

IMANI IVERY (TEXAS INFERNO)

2022

Endiah Lundy (Houston Skyrise 2022) another #sizedontmatter player that simply gets the job done. She blows by defenders, with the ball, and gets to the rim with ease however running the one is a given as she understands how to control the tempo and get everyone involved. Not only does she see the floor well, she can score when needed, multiple ways

Imani Ivery (Texas Inferno) long and athletic players with upside were all over the place and Ivery got my attention almost immediately. She gets it done in the flow, understands how to put the ball in the basket multiple ways and her upside is definitely huge

Aniyah Sanford ( Texas Elite Lady Warriors 2022) very athletic point guard that’s fast which is good but she’s also fast with the ball which makes her somewhat hard to handle in the open court. Very good BB-IQ, loves to defend but she can score many ways right now so it’s only a matter of time before she explodes

Kimberly Duhon (Houston Elite Grey) talented guard that’s fast, with the ball and knows how to create on the offensive end, either for her teammates or herself. The finished product is nowhere near, love the way she continues to fight no matter what the score is, she simply brings it

Bryanna Turner (AGGIELAND 2022) Turner has the right name, although the first name might be different and she plays a different position, she did a whole lot of things that caught my eye. She keeps defenders guessing, she’s a left that can score from outside or go by whoever is guarding her but finishing with contact, defending and running the one all stood out as well

2023

Dalanna Carter (Texas Lady Dragons) I was impressed with this young lady a couple of years ago and I’m even more impressed now as she truly understands that the game starts at the one. It’s somewhat scary to observe her potential, she’s had one growth spurt and gotten stronger and her ability to take the punishment from older players and not being fazed is huge, so is her play offensively and defensively

Khloe Vaughn ( Texas Elite Lady Warriors 2023) talk about huge upside, she’s polished on and off the court right now. Not only can rebound on one end and go coast to coast for baskets, her athleticism and her ability to create makes her hard to handle yet she understands the simple things and sees the floor extremely well

2024

Taler Thornton (AGGIELAND 2023) when I saw #51 that definitely got my attention, especially on this team however no story there. The true story is that this young lady is playing up and it really doesn’t show that she’s usually the youngest player on the court. Tremendous upside and I truly see big things ahead just watching her do what she does against who she does at this stage
