2016 Basketball Tune Up Showcase

2016 Tune Up Kylie McGuire

KYLIE McGUIRE

HOUSTON, Texas- When  found out I had a chance to see more talent at San Jac JC, I definitely jumped on it because one more time folks, TALENT IS EVERYWHERE, and since the convention is about to start, led me add an amendment, IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT. I was running late however I wanted to make sure I got a glimpse of everyone at least once and after Hitchcock Select as wells as Clutch City Hoopstarz and Swag City for the first time this season, I knew this would probably be my last chance to catch the Lady Dominators as well as get a jump on the new Lady Phenoms coming up but when I found out a team from Colorado was coming, I played John Denver’s Rocky Mountain High down Uvalde, okay I didn’t but here are some talented players I saw this weekend

2016 Tune Up Simone Fuller

 SIMONE FULLER

Leilah Vigil (Colorado Storm) the word punisher applies without hesitation because her physicality on both ends is definitely throwback type effort. She sets defenders up and takes them off the dribble anFULLERd her hands and footwork are next level ready now. After game one, her jersey was dripping wet and that in itself should give you a clue

Simone Fuller (Lady Mavs) long and athletic, huge upside is what I’m liking because she does things instinctively and in the flow but as young as she is and as tall as she is, I think court time and maturity will have her a D1 lock before it’s over

Parker Burris (Friendswood) thought her last name was BURNS cause those nets were definitely smoking. Not only does she have range, mid and long, she does a great job of not only creating her own shot in traffic but getting to her spot which at times seems as if she’s playing around the world

Ariana Smith (Hitchcock Select) Okay size definitely doesn’t matter when you can play and when you’re as fast, with or without the ball, as this young lady is, oh my. She can run a team and or takeover whenever she wants and her knowledge of the game is beyond her years

Kylie McGuire (Aftershock) I talk about throwback players a lot and the vast majority of people who read what I say probably weren’t around the game ten or more years ago before the change. McGuire battles after everything, her desire to get the rebound on both ends is just uncanny because she won’t give in or up

2016 Tune Up Parker Burns

PARKER BURNS

Claudia Moreno (LCA) first thing that caught my eye was her hair which was multiple colors and when she hit the floor, she scored more ways than the colors she has and just put on a show. What I like even more than that was her passion, she gets into it and pumps her teammates up, I really enjoyed the scoring exhibition

Jada Russ (Houston Lady Dominators) from when I first saw her two months ago to now has been a huge jump so I know she’s definitely been working. Tons of athletic ability, she runs the floor and finishes strong or just finishes in the paint. Good rebounder, plays passing lane and defends inside or on perimeter

Leah Peters (Swag Elite) she’s definitely legitimizing everything I thought I saw her do a few weeks ago but guess what, she’s dong even more. Heady PG that can score and handle the ball under pressure. Give her some air, there’s a three, play her too close, she’s buy you for basket or assist

Precious Johnson (Lady Phenoms) just amazing watching this young 6’5 player progress right before my eyes and keep in mind she’s just about to enter HS and is nowhere near where she’ll finish, but she’s giving me glimpses of being another dominant post from the area

Alexis Oates (Clutch City Hoopstarz) saw her a couple of weeks ago and took plenty notes, well she showed me even more. Another battler that just won’t quit, finished strong and rebounded well on both ends as well as showed she could face the basket and score
