2016 Prime Time SW Regional MS Tip Sheet

2020 NaLayjah Johnson

NaLayjah Johnson

Prime Time Sport’s SW Regional had an abundance of next level players playing in the HS divisions but there were plenty in the making in the 5th thru 8th grade divisions as well. Here are some of the talented young players I’m pretty sure you’ll be reading about in the future

2020

NaLayjah Johnson (ASA) I always talk about how I look at progression and from last season to now, she’s made a big jump. The long ball was there last season but she’s catching and shooting it with confidence and accurately as well as attacking the basket, taking the lick and finishing

2021 Dekayla Howard

Dekayla Howard

2021

Natalee Smith (SETX Power Elite) doesn’t shy away from contact in fact she takes it and gives it. Inside the paint she fights for everything on the boards and can finish. I think her aggressiveness s what stands out because she brings it no matter what the score is every game

Dekayla Howard (Monroe Elite) uses her athleticism well on both ends of the court, loves to defend baseline to baseline and plays passing lane. She understands the little things and knows how to get to the basket

Triniti Helms (Dallas Skyline) she handles the ball well, under pressure; she also sees the floor and knows how to create her shot. She also defended well and knocked down the long ball but her biggest asset right now is that she simply gets after it

Ariyon Artis (Lake City Lady Pride) athletic on both ends of the floor, showed she could defend inside or on the perimeter, attacked the basket well and showed she could knock down the long ball consistently with pressure

2022 Jade Miller

Jade Miller

2022

Jade Miller (Shooting Stars) she falls into the “I got up and find out who she was” category because when she came down the court and pulled up for a 25 footer, I knew something was up. She’s poised, knows how to create her shot and doesn’t rattle under pressure

Kylenn Tolopka (HTX Fire 2022) okay in case you haven’t heard me say this “the game starts at the one” and one of the things she does well is run a team. She handles the pressure nicely, creates well for herself as well as her teammates

Madison Williams (Katy Rebels 2022 Floyd) good size and instincts at this age are always pluses but her desire to go after the ball over and over is huge. She understands the concept right now and her upside is huge because she rebounds, runs the floor and finishes and the rest will fall into place

Lakin Madden (Madisonville) showed me a few things early however as the game progressed, I got it, because she certainly does and I’m talking about a natural understanding of the game. She wants the ball in pressure situations and can deliver but her best basketball is ahead of her and with her size…..

Tyrione Sparks (NOLA D1 Hornets) she uses her athleticism extremely well and when you can hang in the air like she can this early in her career and score, I’m not just talking under the basket. She elevates over defenders for the midrange and in the open court, she does plenty of damage

2023 Singleton 2022 Sparks

Jamia Singleton & Tyrione Sparks

2023

Jamia Singleton (Blue Chips 2022) she’s definitely one of the best 5th graders I’ve seen in a while and although she’s small, #SizeDontMatter.  She brings so much energy that it trickles over to her teammates, that first step is a nightmare to defend as well as the long ball but her ability to bring heat on defense and blow by defenders kept me glued to whatever court she was on
