Prime Time #CCClassic 7th Grade #TipSheet

2021 Alexis Howard

ALEXIS HOWARD

HOUSTON. Texas- Although I didn’t get to see the 5th/6th grade group, I caught quite a few playing up with the LMBA squad, one in fact sold me after about 93 seconds. Keep playing, keep progressing and more importantly, be where you can be seen by someone credible, in this case ME because “I ain’t gonna write it, if I don’t see it” but I saw enough to know that several players are going to college free from this division. I was going to combine 7th and 8th grade on the Tip Sheet but I changed my mind so here’s some of the standouts in the 7th Grade Division at Prime Time’s Clutch City Classic

2021

Taylor Jarrell (LMBA) long and athletic is always a plus but three things definitely stood out, explosive first step, finishes with contact and drumroll please, plays the passing lane which equates to easy baskets. She’s going to be really really good

Haili Archie and Brianna Peguero (TX ELITE LADY WARRIORS 13U BLUE) I didn’t even write anything down on these two because it’s embedded in my head as their games mirror each other. Athletic and can score, both rebound well on both ends and have bright futures ahead

Malory Burt (HTX LADY BALLERS) she’s 3 inches away from the magic number in the 7th grade so it’s a good thing she’s developing face the basket skills as well. Does a good job in paint on both ends and comprehends the game

Emily Williamson (SETX POWER ELITE) she has range, knocking a 45 footer down at the buzzer doesn’t mean that but the numerous threes she hit solidified it. Big pluses, she creates her own shot in traffic and sees the floor well

Natalee Smith (SETX POWER ELITE) good strong body, loves being physical but more importantly than banging in the paint is rebounding on both ends. Yes she can finish and take contact while doing so

Gracelynn Alvarez (SHOOTING STARS) okay she blew me away last year simply because she was a fighter that could score and by that I mean she took punishment at the one. Her maturity over ONE year has been astounding, she thinks the game better, she doesn’t get flustered and she’s earning the name Miss Excitement with a variety offensive weapons

Alexis Howard (TX ELITE LADY WARRIORS 13U WHITE) definitely impressed me early, great feel for the game and scored multiple ways. Midrange is going to create so problems for defenders but when you know how to score early, everything will fall into place, aka basket

2022 Savannah Velazquez

SAVANNAH VELAZQUEZ

2022

Savannah Velazquez (LMBA) okay, #sizedontmatter when you have skill, speed, and smart on the court, my 3 S rules for success. Range, mid and long, handles the ball in traffic aand gets to the rim whenever she wants plus is mastering the floater early

Angelina Salazar (SHOOTING STARS) putting the ball in the basket isn’t a problem, she has tools to be a very good offensive player and probably the biggest plus I gave her was creating opportunities when none were there, you just can’t teach that
