2016 Prime Time #CCClassic

2020 Deyonna Gaston

DEYONA GASTON (HTX FIRE)

HOUSTON, Texas – Prime Time Sport’s Clutch City Classic gave me an opportunity to throw something I started hashtagging years ago and that is #TalentIsEverywhere and believe me I truly agree with some of tweets I see regarding people shouldn’t be calling players can’t misses or D1 prospects or even potential next level players however that doesn’t apply to everyone and by everyone I’m definitely including myself because every young player I’ve called a “can’t miss” hasn’t yet and that started my own daughter almost 20 years ago when she was around 6. This past season’s McDonald All American representatives from Texas included three players I caught at Prime Time Nationals prior to them playing in high school, Lauren Cox (Baylor), Natalie Chou (Baylor) and Cierra Johnson (Louisville) all were labeled just that and with Cox being regarded as the #1 or #2 player country after I said she would be just that, well that should speak for itself

Let me say this, after spending 20 plus hours over 2 days at the Clutch City Classic, there were several legitimate D1 players and many on the bubble but there were countless players who have the ability to play college ball somewhere. One thing I always look for is improvement and with many of the players already in my database, it’s good to have something to upgrade what they did from the last time. If I had to pick a “can’t miss” player and by that I mean not only MDAA and BCS as well as WNBA it would have to be Deyona Gaston (HTX Fire) who simply does things that are unreal and at 6’2 with guard skills, well hopefully you see the outlie. If you don’t follow me on social media, you’re probably going to miss many things of interest that’s beneficial and I’ve already tweeted out numerous pics and mini-evals from opening day so familiarize with that, as well as my BLOG and be ready for more news from #CCCLassic
