SATCH Space City Jam runner-up

2016 SJC Mikayla

MIKAYLA SCHENCK

To the novice, losing a player like sharpshooter Anna McCleod to Louisiana Tech might mean the end of a run however I look at everything and I knew that the points would definitely come from other pieces in the talented SATCH puzzle that has seen them continue to not only compete with many of the larger private and public school programs but also come out victorious and the reason, well the reasons are numerous

Megan Miller has definitely been a plus over the past two seasons; she does numerous things that don’t appear in the box score on both ends of the court and usually when a big play is needed, Miller Time means something else

Anna Jackson has also filled in many gaps for SATCH this season, she’s usually somewhere around the ball, is a “never back down defender” that knows how to put the ball in the basket as well

Krystal Jackson has always rebounded well however she’s added numerous things to her game including stepping out and hitting the 10 footer with ease. Her strong frame will be needed during the playoffs

Lydia Hulin has always handled pressure well, she too is a capable scorer as well as Ariel Stevens and Hannah Reeves who along with Megan Miller will be the nucleus for SATCH next season

Mikayla Schenck will also be back, she’s one of the state’s top sophomores as well as long ball shooters, her 6 threes in the championship game sort of tells you what I mean however she also gets to the rim with ease and finishes with contact and when you combine all of that with her athleticism and ability to play the passing lane, hopefully you get the picture

2016 SJC Madi

MADISON SCHENCK

Madison Schenck has always been a kid I pulled for, I simply love so many things about her game that even I can’t put it into words, well not in this article because I’m doing special on her. Let me close with this, 30 points and 28 rebounds in the Space City Jam finals, now you see why
