HS Tip Sheet 2015 Summer Hoops Tour #PrimeTime

2015 PT A Jackson HTX

ASHLON JACKSON (HTX)

The  Woodlands, TEXAS- Although several of the young ladies I picked aren’t even in HS, I’m more excited about what they will become after seeing jumps in what I’ve seen earlier. I stress the importance of not only working on your game but comprehending the game as well. Here are 10 players that I had a good luck at multiple times that stood out while I was watching. Notable omission is Deyonna Gaston (HTX), she’s of the best 2020 players in Texas, she’s in my top five and before it’s over she may be the best. HTX 2018 also had a couple of players that shot the three extremely well

Ashlon “Action”Jackson (HTX Fire) big growth spurt, heading to 6th grade, running the one, doing more than holding her own running the one against players five, six maybe seven years older tells me she’s a D1 lock, yeah I said it. She’s poised under pressure and creates well for herself and teammates and made one of several highlight shots of the event

Ana Rodriguez (HTX Fire) speed and athleticism have jumped, she always could handle pressure but she’s applying better as well as doing a good job taking defenders off the dribble. The three ball is looking good, as well as the pull-up

Missy Archie  (CSC Warriors) undersized or not, she out rebounds players four or more inches taller simply by desire. She’s athletic, she’s strong and she can finish with power. Love her defense as well as heat she brings throughout game

Jaylyn Ashley (CSC Warriors) good offensive skills, can score multiple ways and doesn’t mind taking the shot when they need it. Also unselfish yet gets hers in the flow. Throw in the fact that she doesn’t mind defending….

Jaidya Fontenette (Brazoria Bombers) will enter HS this season and I’m sure the transition will be as fast as she is on the court. I doubt if anyone in the event was as fast with the ball, she has several tools including range from 25 feet

Mikayla Trawee (Brazoria Ballers) talk about a stroke, she can definitely shoot it and once she’s in the zone, she only needs the ball. Mid or long range, she can get it done and her length enables her to get it off against anyone

Kennedy LaPray (Lady Pirates) scored well under pressure, good range and ball handling as well as had a knack for being around the ball

Kim Lillie (Kingwood Hoops) put up numbers every game and when I saw her, showed she could do it a variety of ways

Sammy Carter (Lady Fireballers) made big plays to change momentum throughout tournament, whether it was on the offensive or defensive side

Jasmin Zamari (TNBA Sadler) showed she could score the first time I saw her then showed she could score from long range with a hand in her face

Melissa Hart (TNBA Sadler) plenty of upside to go with her 74 inches and wingspan probably adds two more. She’s long and athletic, runs the floor well and is scoring under and facing the basket
