Cy Falls Keeps Rolling

 CY FALLS KEEPS ROLLING

 cy creek weaver

When you’re the number one team in the district, city and state, you have to bring it every night because there’s going to be a     bulls-eye on your back and as we are just under a month before playoffs begin, the plot will only thicken. Cy Creek visited Cy Falls and left without a victory, losing 68-50. Dana Fullerton opened up the scoring for Creek and it appeared it would be a tight game, problem is nobody told Sedalia Ellis and Macy Moore as they combined for 13 first quarter points, Moore with 3 three pointers as they started to pull away 20-8. More Ellis and Moore in the second quarter as Falls stretched the lead to 39-22, the duo at this point had 27 of their 39 points and the only reason that Creek were not down by 20 is Angelica Weaver steady flow of points, leading the Cougars with 8 at the half.

In the second half, Ellis continued her masterful performance of zigging and zagging, scoring the first 5 points of the third quarter and assisting to Moore and before you know it, they were up by 22, 48-26, Ellis also had 5 steals at this point. Just when it appeared to be over, Falls went cold and Maddy McGlammery got hot, scoring 11 straight points as the lead was cut to 11 early in the final quarter.

That was as close as Creek would get as Ellis stole number six on the night and assisted to Moore for her sixth three and that was all she wrote. Weaver finished with 16 points for Cy Creek, while McGlammery added 11 and Ikpeaku Iwobi scored 10. Three of Falls starters, Carol Willie, Kit Metoyer and Larissa Scott didn’t score their average on this night, that’s what makes this team so special, plenty of weapons in their arsenal. Moore finished with 21 and Ellis led all scorers with 30.
